Stace and I saw Fever Pitch last night. The Farrelly brothers comedy is the story of a boy, his unhealthy obsessions and the girl who loves him anyway/because of it. Sound familiar? Throw in Boston, baseball, and a Nick Hornby inspired script and we have our favorite movie in months. I'll own this the first day it comes out on DVD — repeat watch.
On the ride home, we were behind a car with a sole bumpersticker: A great ass is meant to be seen…and not heard. When you're peeling the backing off that sticker, what are you thinking about? Did you buy it? Gift from a friend? Why don't you have any other stickers on the back of your car? Just starting the collection?
I refuse to see Fever Pitch because:
a) the whole "running onto the field after the world series" issue
b) it was already made into a pretty decent movie with Colin Firth that obviously resembled the book a bit more. "It's not the smoking
c) I've had enough Red Sox Nation mythology for one lifetime, thank you.
