CNN agrees with Jon Stewart and cancels Crossfire
Well, it's not quite that A to B, but I'll bet tonight's Daily Show will be tasty.
Thanks for the heads-up, H.B.
Well, it's not that fuzzy, Jason. This Klein guy from CNN brought up Stewart's interview without being prompted. He was implying that Stewart helped break the camel's back, at least.
BTW, I learned most of what I know about Jon Stewart from Dan and from you - especially on this blog.
I didn't see a transcript of what Klein said and what questions he was responding to. We really have no way of knowing if he was prompted or not.
I imagine Crossfire's ratings were in the tank. All the people who like that sort of thing were watching Fox and MSNBC. The only move CNN has left has left is to try to take the journalistic high ground.
Stewart made a couple good cracks. "Soo, I uh guess news is fixed?" (mocking optimism)
If I have time later today, I'll try to edit my recording and post it.
I agree, Reed. I think mentioning Stewart is more an effort to win points than citing a reason for the decision. If Crossfire was making the network alot of cash, they're not gonna cancel it because Jon Stewart doesn't like it.
