Today I made a small dent in the box of CDs to sell. Stace drove me over to Laurie's Planet of Sound so that I could offer up my college collection for the amusement of the smug, no personality fuckers that work there. After opening up at least 100 of the jewel cases looking for scratches, the guy took 19 of them for $58 in store credit. I added $10 to that and walked out with Left of the Dial, Rhino's 4-CD set of 80s “underground” tracks. Thinking back, I should have asked if we could do an even swap — $58 for the used CDs and $10 for the attitude.
all I can say is that I feel for you. I really loathe when people get all haughty for the most inane reasons. Seriously, you work at a music store- wooop dee frikin' doo. I don't think that particular accomplishment merits crowning oneself king of the world.
This compilation is great. I've found the trove of Stacy's music knowledge...Ultravox, Sisters of Mercy, English Beat, The Cure, etc.
no surprise that the lauries foke gave you a bum deal - the owner is a complete and total tool.
