I'll be watching my shows ad-free with BeyondTV while you guys with TiVo are force fed billboards. Never trust a black box.
I'll only be watching billboard ads on 3 of my four tuners.
- I have two-tuner DirecTivo in the living room.
- Single tuner stand-alone Tivo in the bedroom.
- And, single tuner Win XP Media Center Edition in the office. I like it, alot.

How about you?
[Yes, I'm commandeering your Blog for my own survey]
I think the entire readership of this site combined doesn't have as many TiVo tuners as you, Finn. This post was just for you and Stevie. I like turning the screws on his TiVo enjoyment.
Reed, do you consider yourself a TiVo user with the one upstairs or do you not use it much?
By not having TiVo you miss the pleasure of an inanimate object getting to know you through your watching habits.

Well, most of us submit to that on the Web everyday. Customized recommendations and banner ads based on browsing habits are the norm.
I don't have a TiVo per se. I like the pause/rewind live TV and "record all new episodes" functionality that I get in BeyondTV, PC software that runs in conjuction with a tuner card on my computer. What I don't have is an inextricable bond to one company the way you get with TiVo or other separate, built to go hardware box brands.
The best part of it all is that I pretty much never see commercials anymore.
