I'm a little late on this one, but Cub-dom hasn't yet found a hapless onlooker to blame for the collapse this year, right? Like a guy who doesn't actually play and lose games, but just cheers, claps, and snags the occasional foul ball on the 3rd base side?

Oh, they did. Sorry, Wendell. I'm sure the last week would have been different without you.

I was a big Sarge fan back in the day, but I think he was as big a problem as Wendell Kim. Home runs are great, but the Cubs' inability to manufacture runs (a better cliche, in my book, than "small ball") was shockingly bad. That you can't really blame on Wendell, but maybe on Gary.
