$40 iPod replacement battery
If there's one thing that sucks about the iPod (and there's really only that one thing), it's the piss poor battery life. Matt just pointed me to this $40 replacement battery that will add 70% more capacity to older iPods. 20 hours without recharging is a big deal.
This indeed sounds pretty sweet. However, I'd like you to crack open your iPod first and tell me how it goes...
I'm going to wait until Matt cracks his open first. I don't want to be the guinea pig either.
Wow, that's an expensive battery.... so that is how they are going to keep making money on the iPods. It'll be the ink cartridge of the portable music device world.
I think this is actually much cheaper than the standard battery replacement from Apple. I think you get quite a lot of recharging from the original battery. I don't know anyone that has burnt theirs out yet.
Besides, in gadget land, you're more likely to buy a new device before you burn out the one you have. At least that's how it always seems to be.
