Microsoft has reported that in it’s first week, Fable moved in excess of 375,000 units. That’s roughly an $18.7 million gross. No joke. To put that in perspective, Fable did better than the top grossing new movie, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, that same week, while breaking first weeks record sales for an Xbox game at EB Games. At Game Rush it actually broke first week sales for any game! With Fable moving these sort of numbers, what can we expect come November 9? Chaos.
Sky Captain was a fun movie, but Fable is a phenomenal game.
November 9 is the Halo 2 release date, or as it's known to some people, “the day I put my life on hold for a week.”
1. Sorry, Dan. I misunderstood your comment. I thought you meant sales within a week. Putting life on hold for a week? Well, that all depends on how deep I can get a few of my friends into playing online with me. I surely hope I become a craven addict, but you have to do these things in groups, ya see.
2. That's really cool, Mojan. You should see the movie. I really enjoyed it far more than I thought I would.
3. 375,000 units of Fable is one thing, but Sims 2 sold over a million units in the first 10 days. Wow.
