Stace and I used my favorite Wrigley Field amenity last night: the bike valet. Cruising home underneath the L tracks is far better than slogging the 12 blocks up Clark on foot tired and needing to pee. And we got home in time to catch the chaotic men's high bar competition. Anyone else embarrassed by announcer Al Trautwig's taunting of the Korean gymnast? I'm done with you, Al.

The Cubs jumped on Ben Sheets 2-0 in the first inning and never looked back. Zambrano had a no-hitter through 6 until he gave up a bloop double and then lost his cool as per usual. Mercker held the lead through the 8th and Ryan Dempster finished the game for an 8-3 win.

Corey Patterson and Moises Alou both had spectacular outfield catches to keep Zambrano's no-hitter alive. The offense came through with more men in scoring position hits than I've seen in awhile. Last night was the sort of solid game I'd like to see more of down the stretch of this season.
