Julia Child died today
Julia is dead, Frugal Gourmet died last month, and now I only have Lidia and her wonderful Italian-American kitchen. Lidia does a quality show and deserves so much more than Emeril the raging rodent.
Julia was a woman who said the ultimate meal was “red meat and a bottle of gin.” And now she's gone. That sucks.
“Either have the real thing and a little of it or have something else. I like real hamburgers and real meat, real butter. Eat everything. Have fun.” Amen, Julia.

Wow, that is almost as sad as when Mr. Rogers passed away. I once did a poster of how the American Revolution was like making a cheese soufle', using Mastering the Art of French Cooking as my guide. My teacher sent a picture of the thing to Julie Child and I got a nice little letter saying something about how nice history or cooking was, I forget which.
