Suburb shift turns state blue
Part 3 of The Christian Science Monitor's 5 part series, “Continental Divide: A look at America's polarized electorate.” The article discusses Illinois as a case of a former swing state now entrenched as a Democratic stronghold. The author points to the Chicago suburbs as the source of the shift to the left.

I haven't finished the entire series yet, but I've skimmed a good chunk.

hmmm. that's interesting! (i only read the chicago one) I don't feel that either party really posits my views, so I'm always going with the one that's closest. I guess that's what everyone does.
