Ben Stiller's last 3 movies: Along Came Polly, Starsky & Hutch, and Envy.
Think about that before you go see Dodgeball because Ben Stiller is in it. I wish he'd make more movies like The Zero Effect and The Royal Tenenbaums and less of the SNL ripoffs.
Ben Stiller: Over. Rated.
Dodgeball is absolutely great. I've already seen it twice.
So was Starsky and Hutch, by the way.
You've seen Dodgeball twice? I'm going to be really gullible and say I believe you. For the love of God, *why*?
Well, mainly because I don't have a life.
But also because I thought much of it was very funny. I love it when a Hollywood comedy transcends the genre by refusing to take anything in itself seriously. You know - no self-improvement or learning of any kind. No true love found.
Starsky and Hutch was funny in the same way, and I thought it was additionally cool that the director kept the action down to a cheesy '70s TV level. Though I strongly objected to the use of "Sweet Emotion" at the end. Hard rock had no play on the series.
Check out Napoleon Dynamite. We saw it on Friday and thought it was a riot. Definitely no learning of any kind.
