How to read difficult books
My suggestion? Choose #8 unless there will be a test. Life is too short to waste time reading something you hate or can't understand. Yes, it can be enriching and challenging, but is that really why you're reading Ulysses, Gravity's Rainbow, or Infinite Jest? Buy them and display them in your bookshelf. All the pretension sans the aggravation. Problem solved.
