I was stuck in the inbound Kennedy parking lot between Nagle and Austin behind a brown Olds. The rear window had a rectangular plaque in the left corner — “Clergy” printed in a calligraphic font. The clergyperson, disgusted with the traffic as I was, pulled onto the right shoulder and sped ahead, cutting back into the right lane when the shoulder disappeared under the viaduct. Unlike the rest of the shoulder-driving assholes in the world, maybe God had given him the right of way.
