6 years ago today, Kerry Wood struck out 20 Astros
I didn't see that game, but I remember following every at-bat online once he got to a dozen. I don't tire of watching the 20 whiff replay. The snap-curve he had back then was absoultely filthy, but the strain of throwing it led to elbow surgery the following year.

Woody pitched well last night, but the Cubs bats are on vacation again and they lost the second in a row to Arizona, 2-0. Clement (4-1 1.95 ERA) works today against Elmer Dessens (1-3 7.66 ERA) to avoid the sweep.

Injury news: Shortstop Alex Gonzalez broke a bone in his wrist last night and will miss 6 weeks.
