Dear Greg,
Thank you for reading my last letter and answering my request. I've always been a huge fan of yours and can't wait to see you pitching in Cubbie blue once again.

Your detractors point out that you're 37 years old and in the waning days of your career. I recognize that your skills aren't what they were 10 years ago, but I don't expect you to be the ace in Chicago. Your return should be a reminder to Cubs ownership to treat Mark Prior more fairly than they did you a dozen years ago. You can also teach Kerry and Carlos how to assume the calm, tax accountant demeanor when they're losing their cool on the mound.

I know they'll put a Braves hat on you when you're inducted into the Hall of Fame someday, but here's to getting your 300th victory at Wrigley in a Cub hat on a friday afternoon in August. I'll pick August 27th vs. the Astros up against Roger Clemens. That works for me.

Your fan,
