We sat in the fourth row when we saw The Matrix: Revolutions earlier this week. Before the opening credits began and just after my right ear started ringing from the volume of the THX disclaimer, Stacy remarked that viewing movies from too close a distance makes her remember them better. I thought about that for a second and quickly recalled a number of films where I was seated closer than was comfortable. Rainman at the Norridge Theatre, The Spitfire Grill at the Nickelodeon (?) in Boston, and Sleepy Hollow at a theatre on Michigan Ave.

I vividly remember sitting in the 3rd row at "Independence Day." I also remember that nasty smell coming from the guy in front of me.
