Flashmobs don't impress me. 754 guitarists simultaneously playing 'Louie, Louie' raises an eyebrow. But how about 754 people congregate as a flashmob, play 'Louie, Louie' for 5 minutes on their guitars and then disperse without a word? Now that would be praiseworthy. I'd like to see more intermingling of obscure record holder wannabees and pop fads. I want true innovation.
Speaking of flashmobs, does that explain the Cubs bullpen debacle last night? Did Alfonseca, Guthrie, Farnsworth, & Remlinger get an anonymous email to appear on the mound simultaneously in the 8th inning, put a Cardinal on base, then disperse without a word?
