Empire Builders at the Viaduct Theatre. A family living in ever smaller rooms, losing their minds and kicking the 'it' on the floor. I can't possibly review what I completely don't understand. Empire Builders is an absurdist play and that about describes it. 2 questions to be answered: What was the sound? What was the character on the floor? My best guess is that the sound was any terror or dread in our lives that we don't want to face. The character on the floor could be memories or 'what is real'. Why was it called Empire Builders? no idea.
