A List Apart has a great article on writing for the web. My journal here is clearly in its infancy and I'm overwhelmed by how many weblogs are out there, how many resources exist, all the fancy tools and whistles to put on your page. There is a whole culture of people writing online that didn't exist 10 years ago. That floors me. Were all these thoughts sitting unread in half-filled journals and notebooks? are we drawn by the instant readership? (well, almost instant, not more than 1 or 2 will read this) do we share more? less? do I want to write here because I want to write or because I want to create *something* or because it's the latest fad I heard of? will it start off with an entry every day, overtended, then slowly fade all of a sudden to stop. then I can think back and be embarrassed that I had a weblog too.
