Found the Spriograph. There's also several applets that let you make them with java. I remember the pen colors in spirograph as particularly neon. Baby blue, hot pink, etc. I think spirograph is why I still have an awful habit of doodling on every piece of paper I bring into a meeting. Note taking is effort. Geometric designs in the margin is not.
